27th Annual Gourmet Bike Tour
Event Date: July, 28 2013
Event Times: 6:30 am to 4:00 pm
Join more than 700 bikers for a scenic ride through the Fox Cities countryside! Over $40,000 is expected to be raised for the youth mentoring programs at Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha in honor of their 40th Anniversary.
The Best Friends Gourmet Bike Tour features mouth-watering gourmet fare, this ride caters to both the novice and experienced rider. Ride any one of the scenic routes including 4-, 8-, 12-, 25-, 55-, 75- or the 100-mile century route. Helmets are mandatory for all participants and it is suggested to carry a cell phone with you at all times.
The mapped tour provides mechanical assistance, SAG wagons, and rest stops with homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, water, and Gatorade. After the tour, between 11am and 4pm, participants are invited to enjoy a gourmet lunch featuring fresh baked goods, soups, calzones, sub-sandwiches, wraps, and beverages. Alcohol is not permitted on the premises. Shower facilities are available.
6:30 am -- Registration
7:00 - 7:45 am -- 100-mile start
7:45 - 8:30 am -- 55- and 75-mile start
9:00 - 10:00 am -- 25-mile start
9:30 - 11:00 am -- 4-, 8- and 12-mile starts
11:00 am - 4:00 pm -- Gourmet dining!
Support and Gear (SAG) wagons are available to cyclists starting at 7am. Rest areas with homemade baked goods are available at 8am. Please remember, helmets are mandatory for all riders! Helmet fittings and assistance is available at the event.
